Trump, GOP headliners headed to Tea Party event in Myrtle Beach
Several Republican contenders for the party’s presidential nomination including Donald Trump will head to Myrtle Beach in January to speak at the South Carolina Tea Party Coalition Convention at Springmaid Beach Resort.
Also attending the three-day event beginning Jan. 16 are U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas, Dr. Ben Carson, former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, Carly Fiorina, and former U.S. Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania.
Trump, who continues to lead in the South Carolina polls with an average of nearly 34 percent, will speak at 4:30 p.m. Jan. 16, Huckabee will speak at 11:20 a.m., and Cruz is scheduled for 2:20 p.m.
Fiorina is scheduled to make remarks at 11:20 a.m. Jan. 17 and Santorum will speak at 2:20 p.m.. Carson is slated to appear at 11:20 a.m. Jan. 18.
More than 40 speakers will address the convention, including South Carolina Attorney General Alan Wilson.
Tickets must be purchased in advance on the South Carolina Tea Party Coalition’s website.
