Dr. Ben Carson, a 2016 Republican presidential candidate, is set to be at The Hobby Lobby in North Myrtle Beach on Dec. 22.

Ben Carson, a 2016 Republican presidential candidate, will be in North Myrtle Beach Dec. 22 between 10 a.m. and noon.

The event is being sponsored by the North Myrtle Beach Republican Club. The club says the event will be at Hobby Lobby, but Andrew Yates with Carson’s campaign says the location hasn’t yet been set.

A retired neurosurgeon, Carson holds 67 honorary doctorate degrees and authored two best sellers, “America the Beautiful, Rediscovering What Made This Nation Great” and “One Nation, What We All Can Do to Save America’s Future.”

Carson rolled out his plans for healthcare reform Wednesday, a plan that repeals Obamacare and replaces it with a system that “focuses on the expansion of tax-protected Health Empowerment Accounts (HEAs), currently known as Health Savings Accounts (HSAs). An HEA will be automatically opened for every citizen at birth and would be available to everyone in the current system who has a Social Security number,” according to Carson’s campaign website at www.bencarson.com.
