Voters heading to the polls today

Voters are heading to the polls today along the Grand Strand to pick their next city leaders.

Myrtle Beach, Conway, Atlantic Beach, Georgetown and Briarcliffe Acres will elect council members and, in some cases, a mayor.

Horry County residents in District 3 also will vote for a council representative to fill the seat that was occupied by Marion Foxworth, who resigned in August to take the job as the county’s register of deeds.

North Myrtle Beach’s candidates have already been qualified because there was only one candidate to file for each open seat.

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
