Nonpartisan
▪ The Greater Burgess Community Association will host a candidates forum for the S.C. House District 106 special election to replace former Rep. Nelson Hardwick.
The forum will be 7 p.m. Thursday at the South Strand Recreation Center, located on Scipio Lane.
Each candidate will speak for about five minutes. After all candidates have spoken the floor will be open to questions from the audience. This is an important election and we encourage your participation.
Democrats
▪ The Horry County Democratic Party will hold its executive committee meeting 6 p.m. Monday. Registration begins at 5:30 p.m.
All executive committee members, alternates and precinct officers are asked to attend. Everyone is welcome.
HCDP asks those who attend to bring school supplies to donate to students in need. For more information, call Nancy Anderson at 347-2306.
▪ The Democratic Women’s Council of Horry County will meet 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Luigi’s Trattoria, located at 503 61st Ave. N. in Myrtle Beach.
