Horry County opening more absentee voting sites ahead of November election

Anticipating more residents taking advantage of absentee voting, Horry County Voter’s Registration & Elections will set up extra voting sites for the November election.

The sites will be at the North Strand Recreation Center, the South Strand Recreation Center and the Carolina Forest Library, from Oct. 5, 2020, to Nov. 2, 2020. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Voters who want to vote absentee in person, will enter the facility, complete an absentee voting application, and then vote. If voting absentee in person, voters are urged to visit www.scvotes.com to confirm their personal information is correct before arriving.

Absentee in person voters will need to have proper identification. Safety protocols may cause the process to be slower than normal, according to a county press release.

Voters who were mailed absentee ballots can drop their ballots in drop boxes at the facility. There is also a drop box available at the Voter’s Registration & Elections office, 1515 4th Ave., Conway.

For more information, residents can visit scvotes.com or contact the Horry County Voter’s Registration & Elections at (843) 915-5440.
