Donald Trump heading to Myrtle Beach to address SC Tea Party Convention

Donald Trump will serve as a keynote speaker at the fourth annual S.C. Tea Party Convention in Myrtle Beach later this month.

He is expected to speak the afternoon of Jan. 19 at Springmaid Beach Resort.

Trump is one of several people planning to attend the convention whose names have been floated as potential candidates in the Republican presidential primary next year.

Others possible presidential candidates expected to attend include former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum and neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz also has been invited. South Carolina is the first primary in the south.

The theme for the convention is “The American Dream: An Opportunity, Not an Entitlement.”

Other speakers expected to address the convention include U.S. representatives Tom Rice of Myrtle Beach, Mick Mulvaney of Indian Land, and Mark Sanford.
