Wife convicted of raping baby sentenced months after husband, Ohio officials say
A woman convicted of raping an infant, among other charges, has been sentenced to life in prison, Ohio prosecutors said.
A jury found 39-year-old Kristina Jacobson guilty of one count of rape, two counts of illegal use of a minor or impaired person in nudity-oriented material or performance, and one count of gross sexual imposition on June 12, according to a news release from the Summit County Prosecutor’s Office.
The Akron woman was sentenced to life in prison without parole on June 26, prosecutors said. The sentence comes months after her husband and co-defendant, 45-year-old Scott Jacobson, was given the same sentence.
Their attorney information was not listed. Prosecutors did not say how or if the children were related to the couple.
“Kristina Jacobson abused an innocent child’s vulnerability and inability to defend or advocate for herself,” Summit County Prosecutor Elliot Kolkovich said in a statement.
Scott Jacobson was sentenced in November following a guilty plea to two counts of rape, 10 counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor, two counts of gross sexual imposition, according to prosecutors.
He was accused of raping two children and possessing child pornography, according to officials.
If released, both the husband and wife will be required to register asTier III sex offenders, the highest tier in sex offender classifications.
