An Uber driver had four passengers when he suffered a medical issue and fatally crashed, Pennsylvania authorities told news outlets.

The crash happened in Philadelphia’s Fishtown neighborhood at about 9 p.m. Saturday, May 31, police told WTXF.

The vehicle collided with multiple parked cars, police said, adding that the Uber driver’s car and three other vehicles all caught fire, WPVI reported.

Police said the four riders were able to get out, and attempted to rescue the driver but couldn’t because the flames were too intense, the outlet reported. The driver was killed, according to police.

Officials have not publicly identified the driver but said he was a 31-year-old man, WCAU reported.

Investigators believe the crash happened as the driver was having a medical emergency, the station reported.
