College student vanished, then car turned up bloody. Now body found, Texas cops say
A Texas college student who went missing in February was found dead, according to police.
Payas Rohit Deo, a 20-year-old University of Houston-Clear Lake student, went missing last month after leaving his parents’ home in southeast Houston on Feb. 8, according to KPRC.
KHOU reported the Houston Police Department found Deo’s body in a field at 1 p.m. March 1 in an “advanced state of decomposition.”
The field is about 6 miles from Deo’s parents’ home, according to KTRK. The day after he disappeared, his car was found in nearby Pasadena, police said.
His family said the car was found with Deo’s shoes inside, a broken window and blood in its front seat, according to previous McClatchy News reporting.
The Pasadena Police Department said in a release that its violent crimes unit is investigating the death alongside the Houston Police Department.
The departments are waiting on an autopsy to determine the cause of Deo’s death.
