Mom helps catch man accused of sexually abusing her 16-year-old daughter, feds say
A man accused of traveling to Oregon from Washington to sexually abuse a teen he met online has been sentenced to prison, officials said.
In April 2022, Seth Lee Fabry, 34, messaged the then 16-year-old girl through Discord after meeting on MeetMe and convinced her to send him sexually explicit images, according to court documents. Both Discord and MeetMe are online social platforms.
In May 2022, he traveled from Washington to Oregon twice and sexually abused the girl, according to a Dec. 10 news release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Oregon.
Throughout their messages, Fabry says he wants to engage in a threesome with the victim and another girl, documents said.
That same month, the girl’s mom found condoms Fabry had given the victim and the girl told her what was happening, officials said.
They arranged for him to travel to the victim’s Eugene home again while the mom and her friends were waiting for him, officials said.
She called police and he was arrested, the news release said.
Fabry pleaded guilty to coercion and enticement of a minor, prosecutors said.
McClatchy News reached out to Fabry’s lawyer on Dec. 11 and was awaiting a response.
He was sentenced to 15 years in prison followed by 20 years of supervised release, officials said.
Eugene is about a 110-mile drive south of Portland.
