Country music star Thomas Rhett is flying all over the world touring his music.

On Sept. 12, he took to Instagram to give his Edmonton, Canada, fans a heads-up that he was on his way and would be seeing them soon.

Alongside his message, he shared a photo of himself sitting on an airplane, with his bare feet on the back of the head rest in front of him.

The photo took fans by surprise, and discourse ensured in the comment section.

Several people were appalled by the singer’s behavior. “Nooooooo feet on the seat,” a fan wrote.

“You remind me of a lady that sat behind me on my flight last week. She settled with a foot on each of my armrests,” another added.

“Put (your) dogs away,” a comment urged.

Other commenters were quick to realize Rhett was likely flying private and that the etiquette isn’t the same.

“Folks, he’s flying privately. Stop telling him he isn’t respectful. He’s one of the most respectful men ever,” one fan said in Rhett’s defense.

In response to the comments asking him to “put his ‘dawgs’ away,” Rhett admitted he had to ask his 25-year-old brother-in-law what that meant.

“Y’all, I had no clue what ‘dawgs’ were,” Rhett wrote. “So I asked my 25-year-old brother-in-law… feet.. got it. I’m just auditioning for my foot modeling career.”

Hours later, on Sept. 13, Rhett distracted people from his “dawgs” by posting a photo of him and his wife, Lauren, when they were just kids.

In the caption, he shared lyrics from one of his newest songs “What Could Go Right.”

“Girl, I love you, and I’ve known it since the day that we met.”
