Daughter stabs 75-year-old dad multiple times, leaving him to die on porch, cops say
A 75-year-old man was found dead on the front porch of a home, leading to a murder charge against his daughter, Ohio authorities say.
The victim, identified as Nick Neagos, had been stabbed multiple times, the Licking County Sheriff’s Office said of the Aug. 10 incident in Newark. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
As authorities were investigating, they found the victim’s 47-year-old daughter, April Neagos, walking on the same street with self-inflicted stab wounds, the sheriff’s office said.
April Neagos was taken to a Columbus-area hospital, where her condition is unknown, according to the sheriff.
Investigators determined April Neagos stabbed her father before then stabbing herself, the sheriff’s office said. Authorities did not provide a motive for the killing.
She was charged Aug. 12 with murder, court records show.
In 2020, April Neagos was accused of stabbing a man multiple times, the Newark Advocate reported. The felony assault charge was later dismissed, according to court records.
Records show that in 2022 she pleaded guilty to a felony charge of trespassing. It’s unclear how much jail time she served.
Newark is about a 40-mile drive northeast from Columbus.
