A couple driving separate cars is accused of ramming into a 55-year-old pedestrian, causing his death, Texas deputies said.

Freddy Lee Heine died after the hit-and-runs in Houston on July 9, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said in a Facebook post.

The husband, 55-year-old Emanuel Dewayne Watson, and his wife, 55-year-old Robin Yvette Williams-Watson, were driving separate cars when they struck the man, Gonzalez said. Both fled but were later caught by deputies.

They were charged with failure to stop and render aid and taken to Harris County Jail, according to deputies. Gonzalez said Emanuel Watson also had a parole violation at the time of his arrest.

Jail records show Emanuel Watson was charged with an accident involving death. His bond was set at $250,000.

Williams-Watson’s jail records were not listed.
