‘Inseparable’ dog brothers surrendered by owner with cancer. They need a new home
Two “sweet” dogs were surrendered when their loving owner got cancer and couldn’t keep them.
Now, Florida dog brothers Buster and Bo need a new home — together.
“They are inseparable and must be adopted together, as they provide each other with comfort and companionship,” Florida Cocker Spaniel Rescue wrote June 23 on Facebook. “These loyal brothers will thrive in a calm and loving environment where they can feel safe and secure.”
The rescue in the Dade City area — a roughly 40-mile drive northeast from Tampa — didn’t say how long Buster and Bo have been waiting for a new owner. But it said the dogs arrived after experiencing a rough patch.
“These larger, strong Cocker boys were surrendered to us because their loving owner is battling stage 4 breast cancer and can no longer care for them,” the animal organization wrote.
The 5-year-old pups are described as “sweet and devoted.” The online post that said the brothers were up for adoption was still active as of June 26.
“Buster and Bo are used to a quiet adult household and are initially slow to warm up to new people,” the rescue wrote. “However, once they do, they are incredibly friendly and affectionate.”
Florida Cocker Spaniel Rescue didn’t immediately share additional information with McClatchy News on June 26. More details about its adoption process can be found by calling 813-245-1833.
“Potential adopters must have a verifiable veterinary history and should be willing to travel to the Tampa area for adoption if approved,” the rescue wrote.
