Stray dog was covered in scars. Now she’s ‘overjoyed’ about new home, Florida shelter says
A stray dog was found covered in scars — and now, she’s “overjoyed” that she has a new home, a Florida animal shelter said.
Priscilla the 5-year-old dog had “scars all over her body” and part of her ears removed. There also was evidence that the pup had several litters in the past, according to the Humane Society of Tampa Bay.
But after Priscilla had a “rough start” to life, her luck turned around when a good Samaritan brought her to the Humane Society. She later found pet owners who couldn’t get enough of her, leading to the start of her next chapter, officials wrote Nov. 9 on Facebook.
“Priscilla is a resilient girl who was overjoyed during the adoption, making sure her new family knows how ready she was to go home,” the Humane Society wrote as it shared a photo of the bright-eyed dog with her owners.
“Her tail was wagging, and she kept trying to climb up into her adopters’ laps during the adoption process,” the shelter told McClatchy News in an email.
