Fisherman jumps into lake for a swim, but he doesn’t resurface, Missouri officials say
A 54-year-old man drowned on Sunday, July 30, while he was on a fishing trip at a Missouri lake, officials say.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol say Raymond Robison, from Wright City, was fishing at a lake in the August A. Busch Memorial Conservation Area in St. Charles County when he decided to go swimming.
But after Robison entered the lake, he began struggling and went under water, according to an incident report. He did not resurface.
Robison body was later pulled out of the water and it was taken to the St. Louis County morgue, officials said.
The August A. Busch Memorial Conservation area covers 6,950 acres and was purchased by the Missouri Department of Conservation in 1947. It is about 30 miles west of downtown St. Louis.
