An explosive device was found buried in a flowerbed in Missouri, officials announced.

Columbia police responded to a call about noon on May 11 of an “undetonated explosive device” discovered inside the flowerbed.

A member of the Mid-Missouri Bomb Squad arrived and “secured the device” without difficulty, a police news release said.

Police said it is “unknown how long the device was buried” and it hasn’t been determined if the device could have exploded.

“At this time, the situation does not appear to pose a threat to the community,” the release said.
