Tastykake krimpets join cupcakes in being recalled for possibly having metal mesh wire
Three kinds of Tastykake krimpets have been recalled for the same reason that three kinds of Tastykake cupcakes were recalled last week — “the potential presence of tiny fragments of metal mesh wire.”
Flowers Foods’ said in its FDA-posted recall notice the cupcakes recall “was initiated following notification by a vendor of the possible contamination in a supplied ingredient and is being amended following additional notification from the vendor.”
This latest part of the not-food-in-your-food recall covers:
▪ Butterscotch Krimpets, box of six two-count packs and individually sold two-count packs, best by Nov. 24 and Dec. 1; three-count packs, best by Nov. 25; and Club Pack, 12 two-count packs, best by Nov. 24 and Dec. 1.
▪ Creme Filled Krimpets, box of six two-count packs, best by Nov. 20, Nov. 24 or Nov. 27;
▪ Jelly Krimpets, box of six two-count packs, best by Nov. 22, Nov. 25 and Nov. 29; and three-count packs, best by Nov. 25.
They went to stores in Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Washington DC, and West Virginia.
Either toss these or return them to the store for a full refund. Any questions, contact Flowers via their website or by calling 866-245-8921, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Eastern time.
