A 41-year-old woman who shot a man she accused of shoplifting at a Circle K convenience store in Arizona has been arrested, Phoenix police say.

Miriam Shekhmoos is charged with aggravated assault following the incident Saturday afternoon in north Phoenix, police told Arizona’s Family.

Shekhmoos told police she tried to stop the man from stealing merchandise in the store around 3:15 p.m., KSAZ reported.
