Update: Lanes open on U.S. 501 southbound after crash near Carolina Forest Boulevard

All lanes of U.S. 501 southbound are now open after a crash near Carolina Forest Boulevard blocked them, according to a social media post from South Carolina Department of Transportation officials.

The crash happened at 2:38 p.m. Tuesday on U.S. 501 near Carolina Forest Boulevard and West Perry Road, officials said.

Motorists should avoid the area if possible.
