Crash on N Kings Highway causes gas leak and lane closures. Here’s what we know
Horry County Fire Rescue responded to a crash on North Kings Highway early Monday morning that caused a gas leak and blocked all lanes of traffic.
A two-vehicle crash on the 9700 block of North Kings Highway caused a commercial building to be struck. Utility equipment was damaged causing a gas leak, and roadways are expected to be closed for an extended time, according to a Facebook post.
A video associated with the post showed lanes closed by Rainbow Falls Golf and CareNow Urgent Care near Wagon Wheel Road.
Horry County Fire Rescue was dispatched at 5:20 a.m. to help mitigate the leak, and utility crews are working to repair the damaged equipment.
Two people were transported to the hospital to be evaluated for possible injuries. South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
Crews asked drivers to avoid the area to reduce delays and for the safety of crews on the scene.
