A fatal pedestrian crash in Myrtle Beach caused South Kings Highway to close part of Monday morning as police investigate.

At about 5:30 a.m. on Monday, Myrtle Beach Police were sent to the 1000 block of South Kings Highway when a pedestrian was found in the road, according to a social media post from the department. The pedestrian involved in a hit-and-run did not survive the crash.

Myrtle Beach Police shut down Kings Highway from 9th Avenue South to 13th Avenue South as they investigate the crash. As of 9:30 a.m., South Kings Highway had reopened.

Myrtle Beach Police have not shared details of the crash. The Horry County Coroner’s Office has not yet released the name of the deceased.
