International Drive reopened Wednesday after being closed for wildfire operations in the Carolina Forest area.

Horry County officials announced that drivers can now use the roadway after it has been closed for several days.

Drivers, however, are asked to be aware of public safety personnel and apparatus which will still be active in the area.

Firefighters continue to battle a wildfire in the Myrtle Beach area that covers 2,059 acres in the Carolina Forest area.

Other closures may be necessary should conditions change or wildfire operations evolve, officials said.
