Road closures set for Carolina Country Music Fest. Where to go and avoid for drivers

Motorists can expect traffic delays when the Carolina Country Music Fest kicks off June 6 in Myrtle Beach.

The city will close several roads for the three-day annual music event. In addition to many of the roads closed around Ocean Boulevard, drivers can also expect to see heavy traffic along Kings Highway, which runs along the site of the old Pavilion, 812 N. Ocean Boulevard, including North Eighth and Ninth avenues, where CCMF will take place.

Here are what roads will be closed:

  • Ocean Boulevard, between North Eighth and Ninth avenues, beginning 8 a.m. Monday, June 3, 2024, through 5 p.m., June 12. Includes north and south sidewalks along this stretch of Ocean Boulevard.
  • Ocean Boulevard, between North Seventh and Eighth avenues, beginning 8 a.m. June 3 through 5 p.m. June 11.
  • North Eighth Avenue, beginning 8 a.m. June 3 through 5 p.m. June 10. All lanes and parking spaces will be closed.
  • Chester Street, between Seventh and Eighth avenues North, beginning 8 a.m. June 3 through 5 p.m. June 10.
  • Ninth Avenue North, westbound lane between Chester Street and Ocean Boulevard, beginning 7 a.m. June 5 through noon June 10.
  • Ninth Avenue North, eastbound lane between Highway 17 Business and Ocean Boulevard, beginning 6 a.m. June 3 through 5 p.m. June 11. Includes all parking lanes and places in eastbound lanes.
  • Eighth Avenue North Beach Access, beginning 8 a.m. June 2 through 5 p.m. June 11.
  • York Street, closed 8 a.m. June 4 through 5 p.m. June 10 (local business access only).
  • Ocean Boulevard, between Ninth Avenue North to Mr. Joe White Avenue, closed 7 a.m. June 4 through noon June 10. Limited access for local business deliveries from Mr. Joe White Avenue.
  • Ninth Avenue North, between Broadway Street and Kings Highway. Eastbound lane access is only for rideshare after the event gate opening time.
  • Chester Street, between Ninth Avenue North and Mr. Joe White Avenue. Limited access for buses and local businesses during event.

The rideshare location for CCMF this year will be along Ninth Avenue North, between Broadway Street and Kings Highway. Rideshare users should plan to be dropped off and picked up in this area.

Drivers should enter onto the eastbound lane from Broadway Street and exit using the southbound lane on Kings Highway.
