Popular Burgess area road will partially close in June. Here’s the traffic detour

There will be a detour along S.C. 707 and Tournament Boulevard while construction is done on McDowell Shortcut Road.

A poplar street located near the Burgess area street will be partially closed starting the first week of June and lasting until July, according to South Carolina Department of Transportation.

A section of McDowell Shortcut Road will be closed near Lee Circle. Traffic will be detoured to Tournament Boulevard and S.C. 707. The shutdown begins June 6 and is expected to be in place until July, according to the SCDOT.

This is apart of the SCDOT McDowell Shortcut and Tournament Boulevard Intersection Improvement Project.
