Expect heavy traffic on this Myrtle Beach road this weekend. There’s three events in town

This weekend, Myrtle Beach will be hosting three different events drawing in thousands of people along Oak Street, increasing the amount of traffic.

City officials warned the public to expect heavy traffic on Oak Street from the Myrtle Beach Convention Center to the Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium.

Run to the Sun Car and Truck and Show will be hosted at the former Myrtle Square Mall site from March 14 through 16, according to the event’s website. It’s expected to have 3,500 classic cars from before 1989.

There will be a national cheer competition at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. Cheer Ltd. CANAM will have their varsity competition from March 15 through 17 and March 22 and 23, according to its website. Myrtle Beach said this event is expected to bring in 1,000s of people.

Finally, the Alan Connie Shamrock Invitational Track Meet will be happening at the Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium from March 14 through 16, according to its website. The city said there will be 100s of attendees.
