North Myrtle Beach to close streets. Here’s what roads to avoid to prevent traffic delays

North Myrtle Beach will host its 34th annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival on Saturday, March 16, shutting down several streets

The parade will run down several streets, including Main Street and Ocean Boulevard from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The festival will be along Main Street from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., according to North Myrtle Beach

The festival will include three stages with various bands playing all day. There will be over 130 vendors, including food, arts and nonprofits.

Here are the streets that will close for the parade and festival and when they will close.

What’s the parade route?

The parade will start on Ocean Boulevard at 2nd Ave North and head south until 1st Avenue South. The parade will turn right onto 1st Avenue South and then turn right on Hillside Drive. It will turn left on to Main Street and end at Ye Old Kings Highway.

Which streets will close to traffic?

  • Ocean Boulevard from 11th Avenue North to 1st Avenue South will be closed for the parade. The southbound lane will close at 7 a.m. and the entire street will close at 8:30 a.m. It will reopen around 11:30 a.m. after the parade.
  • Main Street from Kings Highway to Ocean Boulevard will be closed from 8:30 to 11 a.m. for the parade.
  • Main Street from Ash Street to Ocean Boulevard will be closed from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the festival.

Where to park for free

  • McLean Park, 93 Oak Drive
  • Corner of 1st Ave South and Ocean Boulevard
  • Corner of 2nd Ave North and Ocean Boulevard
  • Ocean Drive Elementary School, 901 11th Ave North. There will be a free shuttle from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
