North Myrtle Beach drivers who travel across the Barefoot Swing Bridge can expect traffic delays beginning Monday as the bridge will drop down to one lane.

The lane closing is part of the annual maintenance of the bridge, according to a press release from the city of North Myrtle Beach.

On Monday, crews will begin installing traffic control signals. The work is projected to take six weeks, according to the release.

The bridge goes over the Intracoastal Waterway and is near Barefoot Resort.
