The Little River Swing Bridge will be closed to road traffic next week, according to the South Carolina Department of Transportation.

The bridge on Sea Mountain Highway over the Intracoastal Waterway will be closed for maintenance and repairs beginning at 9 a.m. Monday, a press release said. Repairs to the bridge are expected to be completed within the week, weather permitting.

Drivers are advised to use U.S. 17 as an alternate route, the release said.

During repairs, bridge openings for marine traffic will be limited to 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. Vessel traffic will be unrestricted between 5 p.m. and 8 a.m., the release said.
