Coroner releases names of 2 Conway residents killed in early-morning Horry County crash

The Horry County coroner released the names of the two individuals killed in an early Sunday morning collision on Highway 707.

Greg Duncan and Lea Simone Fignole, both of Conway, were killed in the Bucksville-area crash, the Horry County coroner said in a statement.

At 2:08 a.m. Sunday morning, Horry County Fire Rescue was called to the intersection of Highway 707 and Bucksville Drive, near the Horry County Memorial Library branch.

Sixteen-year-old Fignole and a passenger were driving north on Highway 701 when they were struck head-on after Duncan crossed the center line.

Duncan died on the scene. Fignole and the passenger were taken to the hospital where Fignole was pronounced dead. There is no word at this time of the condition of the passenger.

The South Carolina Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash.
