Conway Christian School has earned accreditation from another South Carolina institute, giving students more opportunities to compete for scholarships and awards.

The private school received accreditation through the South Carolina Independent School Association recently, which puts them on the same accreditation level of public schools across the state. Connie Smith, principal, said the credit helps students compete statewide for awards and scholarships.

“It really helps in terms of placing us in line with other independent schools in South Carolina,” Smith added.

Conway Christian is also accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, which conducts reviews of teachers, staff and curriculum to ensure “all learners realize their full potential,” according to the SACS website.

“Our school has been around a long time, but this is just good to be able to say we have this accreditation,” Smith said.
