Coastal Carolina ranked No. 7 for ‘best value schools’ according to a national study
A national ranking placed Coastal Carolina University as No. 7 in “Best Value Schools,” out of the all South region colleges and universities in the United States.
The U.S News & World Report, which evaluated more than 1,450 colleges and universities, calculated the “Best Value Schools” category using net cost of attendance and academic quality.
“Our quality academic programs and reasonable costs continue to be very appealing to prospective students and their parents, as shown by our second straight year of record-breaking new student enrollment,” stated CCU President Michael T. Benson in a press release. “We are committed to offering our students the best collegiate experience. These U.S. News rankings validate our efforts as we continually work to enhance the reach, rigor, and reputation of the University.”
Along with the Best Value Schools category, CCU also ranked high in a few other categories.
- No. 11 in Most Innovative Schools
- No. 12 in Best Undergraduate Teaching
- No. 14 in Top Public Schools
- No. 16 in Best Colleges for Veterans
U.S News & World Report calculated innovation by which schools are making the most innovative improvements in terms of curriculum, faculty, students, campus life, technology, or facilities.
“It is encouraging to see how these ratings reinforce the direction of the University,” stated Daniel Ennis, CCU’s provost and executive vice president for academic affairs, in a press release. “Being recognized as innovative is a compliment to the faculty and staff who have found creative solutions that show that academic quality and affordability are not mutually exclusive.”
For all regional universities and colleges in the South region, CCU moved up 10 spots to No. 37. Universities and colleges included are defined as institutions that provide a full range of undergraduate programs, some master’s programs, and few doctoral programs.
