Horry County Schools names new chief of human resources
Horry County Schools Board of Education has approved Mary Anderson as the new Chief Officer of Human Resources effective June 1.
The unanimous approval came Monday during the board’s regular work session.
“I’m excited to have the opportunity to continue working with the people of this district and moving Horry County Schools forward,” Anderson said.
Anderson, who has been with the district for 25 years, was principal of Kingston Elementary School in Conway for 14 years before working as a director in human resources for the past two years.
“I have ties to this district and I’m excited for the future,” she said.
Anderson earned a bachelor’s degree from Erskine College and a master’s degree from the University of South Carolina.
She replaces Addie Swinney, who will resign effective June 1.
“There’s nothing more exciting than being able to work with the people of Horry County,” Anderson said.
