Conway, Aynor high school principals moving to district office

Horry County Schools is on the search for two new principals for the next school year as principals from Conway High and Aynor High schools are starting positions with the district office on July 1.

Aynor High Principal Janet Lawrence-Patten will start a new job as a personnel specialist in the human resources department and Conway High Principal Steven Fitch will be the new student affairs lead hearing officer, Teal Harding, district spokeswoman, said.

Lawrence-Patten, who will conduct investigations within the human resources department if needed, will also take over the duties of Mollie Laut. Laut , director of human resources, is retiring this year, Harding said.

Fitch has been hired to conduct student affairs hearings, which is a job usually done by several part-time employees, Harding said The district combined the jobs of several part-time people in order to create Fitch’s position, she said.

Lawrence-Patten and Fitch will start their new duties on July 1. The district posted both job openings online Tuesday.
