The Sun News presents the 27th annual Regional Spelling Bee from the Myrtle Beach High School auditorium on March 3.

The annual event kicks off at 6:30 p.m., with students vying for a chance to compete in the Scripps Howard Spelling Bee from May 24-29 near Washington in Oxon, Md.

Students from 54 schools in Horry and Georgetown counties will be participating in this year's event.
