Man reports home break-in to Myrtle Beach police

A man told Myrtle Beach police that someone broke into his house and stole his cellphone and cash and then left small items from his home all over his yard, according to a police report.

Police were called about 10 a.m. Thursday to a home on the 600 block of 35th Avenue North where a 59-year-old man reported the incident.

The victim told police that about 1 a.m. he checked and locked both his front and backdoor. He placed his cellphone on his nightstand next to his bed and went to sleep.

When he woke up later in the morning, he told police his cellphone was missing, along with a coffee can and small plate, which both contained cash and small items, according to the report.

The victim told police that when he went outside he noticed the coffee can sitting in between his cars in the driveway, and the small items from the can were all over the ground, authorities said.

Officers said there were no signs of forced entry. No arrests were made in connection with the incident as of Friday morning.
