Myrtle Beach police find loaded handgun and drugs while searching car

Myrtle Beach police said they found a loaded handgun while searching a car after it was reported that a man in the car offered to sell someone drugs, authorities said.

Police were called about 8:30 p.m. Thursday to a gas station at the 2400 block of North Kings Highway, after hearing about suspicious activity there, according to a police report.

Officers said they saw a man exit a black car and found crushed-up green pills in his jacket after he gave them permission to search him.

Police said Kelley Ann Frazier, 26, who was with the man, gave them permission to search the car. Officers said she told them there was a loaded gun and a little bit of marijuana in the glove box prior to the search.

Officers determined Frazier was carrying the handgun lawfully after investigating, and she was given a ticket for simple possession of marijuana.

Police couldn’t identify the green pills at the scene found on the man, and he was released after police collected his information.
