Myrtle Beach Food Lion employee reports alleged shoplifter got away with meat
A Myrtle Beach Food Lion employee told police that an alleged shoplifter got away with an undetermined about of meat, according to a police report.
Police were called about 1:30 p.m. Thursday to Food Lion at 1430 South Kings Highway, where a store employee reported the incident.
The employee said she saw the alleged shoplifter attempt to leave the store with a bag of items. She confronted the alleged shoplifter and was able to recover the items in the bag, but she said she saw an “undetermined” amount of meat stuffed in his jacket, according to the report.
The employee asked the alleged shoplifter to give the meat back, but she told police he left the store, passing all points of sell without paying.
Police said the employee is reviewing store security footage to determine what type of meat was taken and the total dollar amount.
Authorities are still investigating the incident.
