Myrtle Beach man tells police his personal items were destroyed by roommate

Myrtle Beach police responded to a complaint concerning damage to personal property, which involved the destruction of an animal tapestry, a wooden picture frame, and broken cider blocks that were previously supporting a living room sofa, according a police report.

Officers were called about 6:40 p.m. Monday to an apartment complex at 1330 Pridgen Road off 17th Avenue South in Myrtle Beach, authorities said.

A 45-year-old man told police that Audrey Lynn Sims, 29, had been his roommate for the past 5 months. The victim said that when he came home Sims had destroyed the apartment. He said that window blinds in the kitchen had been cut vertically. He also told police that two decorative plates had been broken and an animal tapestry he has had for over 10 years had been cut up.

Other damages included a large wooden picture frame and the destruction of cider blocks that were previously supporting the living room sofa. The victim also said a jar of screws had been thrown, and screws were scattered everywhere, police said.

Sims was arrested and charged with damage to personal property under $2,000.
