Man reports to Myrtle Beach police cellphone stolen after prostitution offer
A Myrtle Beach man reported his cellphone was stolen after he met a woman who he said attempted to sell him sex for money, according to authorities.
The 37-year-old victim said he refused the woman’s services before she left his room about 5 p.m. Monday, when he called police, according to the report. The victim was staying at a hotel at 1400 S. Ocean Blvd.
The victim said he met the woman early in the day at 14th Avenue South, and they went up to his room, according to the report. The victim said the woman offered him sex in exchange for money, but he refused and then went to the bathroom.
The victim said when he returned to the room, the woman had left and his cellphone was gone, according to the report. Police searched for the woman, but did not immediately find her.
