Man reports money stolen at Myrtle Beach hotel
A 75-year-old man reported $200 was stolen from him at a Myrtle Beach hotel on Tuesday, according to a police report.
Police responded at 1:34 p.m. at the hotel, located at 201 S. Ocean Blvd, where the victim was staying with his wife.
The man said that he allowed hotel housekeeping to enter his room and then left, police said. When he returned to his room, the housekeeper was gone, and he determined that $200 was missing from his jacket pocket, according to a police report.
The man then contacted resort management and police were called, according to a police report. The 33-year-old housekeeper was interviewed by police, and she said the couple was in the room while she cleaned and denied taking any money.
Police said the balcony door was left unlocked, and it was possible that someone could have climbed the balcony and entered the room, but not probable, according to a police report.
