Victim to police: man who robbed me dropped his ID

A suspect accused of robbing a man on Mr. Joe White Avenue Tuesday afternoon dropped his identification as he ran away, according to police.

Myrtle Beach police responded to the corner of Mr. Joe White Avenue and Dunbar Street at 3:15 p.m. in reference to a strong-armed robbery.

The victim told officers he was walking along the street when he was stopped by a man who asked him for a cigarette. The victim said that when he went to retrieve the cigarette, the man pushed him to the ground, struck him with his hands and robbed him of $40, according to an incident report.

The victim told police the suspect dropped his identification card as he fled the scene. Both the victim and a witness were able to identify the man on the ID as the suspect, according to the report.

The suspect was named in the report as 30-year-old Terry Oneil Bowman. His information was entered into the National Crime Information Center.

The victim was transported to Grand Strand Medical Center for treatment.
