Conway couple charged with man’s murder identified
A Conway couple arrested Monday night has been identified and charged with murder after police found them sitting on a couch near a man who was sprawled lifeless on a mattress in a home stained with blood.
Diane Marie Durkin, 49, and James Richard Rosenbaum, 52, both of Conway were both arrested in connection with the murder of 56-year-old Roy Davis of Conway, authorities said.
Davis died of blunt force trauma, according to Horry County Deputy Coroner Darris Fowler.
Officers with the Horry County Police Department responded to a call of a fight in-progress at the home at 1272 S.C. Highway 548 about 9:50 p.m. Monday, police said.
“The preliminary investigation revealed that the couple caused the death of the victim,” HCPD Lt. Raul Denis said.
Lt. Raul Denis, spokesman with Horry County police, said evidence at the scene led police to believe the couple is responsible for Davis’ death, but said he couldn’t state what that was.
The couple is being held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center and will have an initial appearance at 3 p.m. Wednesday; however, bond will not be set at the hearing because a circuit court judge must set bond for a murder charge.
