Women report being shot with unknown object while riding bikes

Two women told police they were shot with an unknown object while riding their bicycles on Kings Highway Sunday morning.

Myrtle Beach police responded to Talbot Circle shortly after 4 a.m. and found one victim with broken skin on her chin, right shoulder and left hip. A second victim had broken skin on her left front thigh, according to an incident report.

The victims told police they were riding their bikes south on Kings Highway when a passenger of a red pickup truck, traveling north, shot them with an unknown object. Police noted in the report that the weapon could have been an airsoft gun or low-powered pellet gun.

The victims told police that they thought there were two males in the truck, but could not describe the offenders. EMS treated the women at the scene.
