Hotel worker says beer stock was broken into... again
A maintenance supervisor at the Sandcastle Oceanfront Resort came to work Thursday morning to find that thieves had broken into the hotel’s beer supply... again.
Myrtle Beach police responded to the resort for a reported burglary at 9:17 a.m. The employee told police that a storage room at the hotel had been broken into and 12 cases of beer were missing.
And this wasn’t the first time that has happened.
The employee told police this was the third time in the last three months the storage room has been broken into and robbed of beer, according to an incident report.
The beer was stock for the Tiki bar the resort maintains. The employee said the bar closes at 11 p.m. and the storage room was secured at that time, but when he arrived at work at 7 a.m. the next morning, he found the door damaged and the beer missing.
Police noted “there was obvious damage to the storage room door” and advised the resort to consider placing a security camera in the area, according to the report.
