Man covered in blood tells police ‘Bird’ tried to kill him
Myrtle Beach police are investigating a stabbing after finding a man covered in blood behind a Dumpster in Myrtle Beach.
Police received a call about a man behind Hungry Howeis at 1601 S. Kings Highway, but the caller said the man was scared to call EMS because he had warrants.
Upon arrival, an officer found the victim behind the Dumpster covered in blood with severe laceractions to the left side of his torso. The victim told officers that a black male known as “Bird” had cut him over $20 that “Bird” had given him to buy marijunana, which the victim failed to do, according to police reports.
The victim said “Bird” was trying to kill him, and described him as tall and wearing a black doo rag on his head. He said “Bird” had a white girlfriend with red hair and drives a small silver car.
Police ascertained that the attempted murder took place at the Palms Building of the Sea Mist, where the victim as staying underneath a staircase. Officers found bedding material covered in bled.
The victim was taken to Grand Strand Regional Hospital. His condition is unknown.
