Crack, cocaine found hidden in man’s underwear during arrest, police said
A Surfside Beach man was hiding a “significant amount” of crack and cocaine in his underwear when he was arrested in connection with drug charges in Murrells Inlet Thursday, according to authorities.
Richard Lee Lance, 38, was taken into custody on an arrest warrant in connection with distribution of heroin, third or subsequent offense, a release from the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office states.
Lance is also charged with trafficking cocaine, second offense, authorities said.
His arrest came at the end of five-month investigation by agents with the 15th Circuit Drug Enforcement Unit, the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office, and Georgetown City Police Department, who were investigating street-level sales of heroin and crack in the Murrells Inlet area, the release states.
Lance was hiding cocaine and crack between two layers of fabric in his underwear when agents arrested him, authorities said.
Lance is being held at the Georgetown County Detention Center on $45,000 bond, jail records show.
