Loris man surrenders to police in standoff
A Loris man “wanted by multiple agencies and considered armed and dangerous” surrendered to police Thursday after barricading himself inside a home on Justin Lane.
Officers of the Horry County Police Department, the ATF Gang Task Force and the U.S. Marshall’s Fugitive Task Force attempted to arrest 28-year-old Vincent Gerald Bellamy at 2040 Justin Lane around 3:30 p.m.
HCPD Lt. Raul Denis said Bellamy was “wanted by multiple agencies and (was) considered armed and dangerous.”
Local warrants accuse Bellamy of pushing the mother of his child in front of their child and using a firearm to threaten the victim “by telling her he was going to slap her in the face with it” during a domestic dispute.
Warrants also state Bellamy threatened to come back and “shoot the house up.”
Officers say Bellamy barricaded himself inside the residence when they went to arrest him, but he ultimately surrendered without incident.
Bellamy is facing charges of first-degree domestic violence, two counts of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, failure to appear in court, a sex offender registry violation and a violation of a condition of electronic monitoring.
