Arrests made after street fight involving shots fired in Myrtle Beach

Several arrests were made Friday night after shots were fired during a fight involving two large group of tourists on Ocean Boulevard, authorities said.

Myrtle Beach officers were called about 9 p.m. to the 100 block of North Ocean Boulevard in reference to a report of shots fired, according to Lt. Joey Crosby with Myrtle Beach police.

A preliminary investigation uncovered that two large groups of people, not from the Myrtle Beach area, were involved in a fight, and during the fight, a person pulled out a gun and fired shots into the air, Crosby said.

Police arrested the individual who fired the gun, along with several others, Crosby said. And no one was injured in the incident.

Those arrested are being held and Myrtle Beach Jail, according to records:

Uzziah Emanuel Hairston, 19, is charged with possession of marijuana, first offense, and disorderly conduct.

Maryo Eugene Jones, 21, is charged with possession of marijuana, first offense, discharging a firearm within the city, weapons/ sale or delivery of pistol, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest.

Karrington Malik Wimbush, 19, is charged with assault / assault and battery, third-degree.
