Shots fired in the 800 block of Main Street in Myrtle Beach

Myrtle Beach police responded to shots fired Saturday at 5:30 a.m. in the 800 block of Main Street in Myrtle Beach.

When officers arrived they found Kelvin Thomas, 27, sleeping inside a vehicle.

Officers had trouble waking Thomas up.

Officers observed that Thomas had an empty gun holster on his belt.

According to the police report, Thomas stated that he carries the empty gun holster because he thinks it is cool.

Police found two shell casings about four to 10 feet behind Thomas’ vehicle.

A review of footage from the city’s surveillance cameras shows there was fight between several males in the area and shots were fired.

Thomas was arrested for loitering.

The investigation is ongoing.
